This is the story that I wrote for my Creative writing class. It doesn't follow any of my other stories because I didn't want to confuse the teacher since I don't know if she would have even known who Mira XR or Booster was to begin with. It's really long since it was 'supposed' to be a short story and isn't broken up into chapters. I think by time it was printed out a few minuets ago it was ten pages long. ~Buzz

Assault on Planet Z
An evil laughter filled the air, echoing through his ears and reverberating off the walls of his skull. That laugh, that evil and menacing laugh, metallic and nonhuman. The laughing mocked him, teasing him, taunting him, because it was about to win for a chance. "Father, no!" Buzz Lightyear shouted and called out through the dark and drab throne room of Zurg's palace, colored in a nauseating violet. He reached out with his right arm towards his Father, trying to save him, to reach him in any way, but Zurg had a firm grasp on the man, keeping him away. Buzz could hardly see his Father, his face was a blurry mess as if he were looking at his face through the bottom of a coke bottle. He rubbed his eyes trying to get the image of the man's face into focus but when he opened them again there still was no clarity to his vision. Zurg's laugh once again echoed through the purple chamber. The eyes of the Emperor burning bright red with malevolence, a piercing stare that burned through your soul. The evil being took his hand from behind his back and out from his flowing black and red lined cape he held in his metal-clawed hand his mighty and awesome Zurgatronic-Ion Blaster. "NO!!" Buzz shouted out once again. He raced towards the figures in the distance, he needed to reach them in time and stop Zurg before it was too late for his Dad. But as much as he ran he could not reach them, they were always the same distance away. The man ran faster and still no change, and faster still. He was going as fast as he could, heart pounding in his chest, legs filled with cramps of exhaustion. His lungs burned from the lack of oxygen being received, and he fell. Buzz fell straight to his knees on the hard cold steel ground. He sat there a few split seconds trying to regain structure and when he looked up again to meet his eyes to the still distant picture of his Father and the Evil Emperor Zurg he saw it happen. He saw Zurg squeeze the trigger of the Ion blaster slowly, he saw the charged green particle beam sear through his Father in a blinding flash. A flash that engulfed the two figures in the brightest harsh light, and his ears filled with the sound of Zurg's laughter once more, mocking him in the darkness. And then he was alone. Alone in the cold dark world, the throne room had disappeared, the violet was gone, nothing but pure endless black, and a faint chill wind whipping through the night, carrying the laughter of the Emperor on it's wings.
O'300 hours in the early early morning, the sun was still warming the other side of Capital Planet, Buzz Lightyear woke up in a jolt. His eyes were wide open as he sat there in bed, trying to regain his breath. His eyes darted around the room from one corner to the other; even though it was dark he recognized it as his own dorm on Star Command. His desk in the corner, clothes thrown about the room in a mess, the half eaten cheese burger from Cosmo's on the desk. Once he was satisfied with the fact that he was in the safety of his own room he calmed down a bit and slackened his tight and ready to fight muscles. It had only been a dream, a distressing one, well OK a nightmare actually, but he was relieved that it wasn't real and just his imagination. But even though he now knew where he was, the Space Ranger could not close his eyes and go back to sleep. This dream had bothered him more then any other nightmare he had ever had. " How could I have known that?" Buzz asked himself as he brought his knees to his chest. The mystery of the dream, and his Father's last moments alive, puzzled him all early morning. The dream made no sense, but yet it was so real. "Well, if I can't sleep," he talked to himself as he threw the blue covers off and hopped out of bed and stood on the cold metal floor of the space station with bare feet, "I might as well get ready for work." He breathed in a big lung full of fresh air and put a smile on. "Looks like another fine day to stop galactic evil." He walked over to his dresser and opened the top drawer to take out his Space Ranger uniform out. All thoughts of the nightmare had subsided, but still lingered, even though the joy of being a Space Ranger always cheered him up, he could not ignore the troubles of the night. Even as he got ready for another day at Star Command, Buzz whistled a happy tune as he walked about the room. He enjoyed his job and every moment of it, well except maybe the paper work that came afterwards, but still the fact that he made the galaxy safe for others was enough to override the nasty process of filling out forms and reports to Commander Nebula. This was his dream, a dream that did come true. Ever since he was a child Buzz Lightyear always wanted to be a Space Ranger, flying through space, shooting his laser, catching the bad guys, it was the best thing in the whole universe to him. A lot better then being just your average Joe back on Capital Planet. "Time to go to work," he proudly told himself as the automatic door to his dorm swooshed open, and he stepped forward to meet another day into the bright shining white halls of Star Command.

"Did you fix that coordinate?!" Commander Nebula, the gruff and ruff old Commander of Star Command, barked at the LGMs. "Yesssss," the little green men droned back to him all in unison. The LGMs kept everything running on Star Command, they built the machines, fixed the Star Cruisers, cleaned the Station, monitored the Galaxy on the Bridge, and many other various tasks that needed to be done. "Good then," Commander Nebula huffed, "Don't let it happen again! That's an order!" he crossed his arms across his chest and turned his back towards them. The LGMs quickly got to work checking every corner of the Gamma Quadrants, monitoring all frequencies incase of a call for help from some distant planet, and made the coffee. Their tiny green fingers typing away at their computers and their three eyes glued to the screens, not over looking a single thing on the viewing screen. "Commander Nebula," Buzz saluted his Commander as he stepped onto the bridge to receive today's assignment. The bridge was the control center. It had communications networks galore! Reaching every planet in the Galactic Alliance. It shone with bright white walls and lime green trim, keeping everything in unison with the color scheme of the Space Rangers. The glass dome allowed them to look out into the universe and monitor any approaching or departing ship. In the distance Capital Planet was turning on its axes silently as the sun rose on its horizon. "Ah, Lightyear," Nebula smiled as he turned to face his friend and best Ranger, "You're up early this morning." Buzz rubbed the back of his head and frowned, he would rather not talk about the night's sleepless rest, "Yeah I ah, I couldn't sleep." "Well, that's good anyways, you and your team have a lot to do today," the old Commander handed Buzz and stack of papers that was an inch thick. Buzz thumbed through the ton of assignments that awaited them this day. He sighed when he found that there was nothing interesting to do. "Aww craters!! Traffic duty? And safety patrol on Tanker Ally?!" that was only the beginning, there was a whole bunch of other menial and time wasting tasks. Buzz would have rather been hunting down some criminal, or fighting off and invading army, defending a planet, getting someone's cat out of a tree! Anything but making sure people weren't speeding on the Orion Beltway, that was just, just, boring. "Sorry, Buzz. But we just couldn't find anything worth while today." "No evil plots from Zurg?" "None that we could find anyways." Lightyear cringed. Sure these duties were important and yes they had to be completed just like anything else, but they just weren't exciting or filled with danger. "We already paged the rest of your team. They'll be here any second so you can get started on today's work." Just as he finished saying that the doors whooshed open and the three rookie teammates stepped in. Everyone with a smile, that is except for XR, the robot. He frowned all the way mumbling to himself with his arms crossed across his metal, cylinder body. "Good morning team," Buzz greeted them, putting a smile on so as not to give away the secrete of a boring assignment. They hated traffic duty as much as he did, but he had to fake it that it was a good thing or they would never go along with it and nag him until he found something else for them to do. "Morning sir," Mira, the blue skinned Tangean with the ability to ghost through any solid object, waved to her Captain as she stepped onto the deck. "Good morning, Buzz!" Booster, the cheery hero worshiper and rather rotund red Jo Adian, cried out as he made his way to greet Buzz. "Did you get a good nights sleep?" Buzz grew hot under the coller. He shouldn't have gotten mad it was just a simple and friendly question, but the dreams of last night had him on edge and he snapped at anyone who asked anything about it. "Yes, I had a wonderful night," he spat between clenched teeth. They look at him strangely. Was he snapping at Booster? The big alien's ears turned down and his face saddened as he felt rejected by his friend. "What's the matter with you?" Mira asked. Buzz realized what he did was wrong and his eyebrows raised a bit as his hard glowering stare softened, "Sorry, you're right. Sorry there Booster." He patted his friend on the back. "It's OK Buzz," Booster accepted the apology. Booster couldn't stay mad at his hero for long. He was more like a big puppy to Buzz then anything. "What happened to you?" Mira asked further. She knew something was bothering him. she could see it in his eyes. It was written all over his face. "It's nothing," Buzz stammered turning away from them. He didn't wish to bother them with his problems, nor did he need their help. It was only a dream, a strange one, but so what!? There was nothing for them to be concerned about. "Come on now! You know there's something wrong just as I do. Only you're too pig headed and stubborn to admit it," She crossed her arms across her chest knowing she was right and smiled at the fact that she had caught her Captain in a moment like this. "You'll feel better if you get it off your chest. Come on, we won't laugh at you." "I might though," XR sneered. Mira gave him and nasty look and whacked him in the back of his bubble helmet. "Yeah Buzz," Booster smiled, "We're your friends, we only want to help." "Well," he hesitated in letting them know what was bothering him. It wasn't like Buzz to open up to them, or to ANYONE for that matter. He always kept what was eating at him bottled up inside until it all came out in one big fit of anger, and that wasn't good for anyone. But finally he gave in. "OK. I had a bad dream." "Well, that's OK. Lots of people have nightmares Buzz," Mira tried to convince him that there was nothing extraordinary about it, but she wasn't Buzz, and didn't know what was going through his head. " Oh yea? About seeing their Father die by the hands of Zurg and you are helpless to aid in his defense?!" Buzz snapped back at her. This wasn't normal. This wasn't just a dream about being chased by monsters or tornadoes. This was something different. It felt almost as if there was a meaning behind it, a meaning he couldn't quite figure out yet. "Well he's got you on that one princess," XR commented to Mira. "Sorry," Buzz once again apologized for his outburst, "But I don't know, it's like, like it's trying to tell me something. And the strange thing is, I never even knew my Father, how could I know this was what happened?" he looked down at his feet on the floor. "Isn't your Father a banker on Capital Planet?" Booster asked. This was weird. Why would he tell them that he never had a Father when he obviously did? Booster, in his weird idolization of Buzz, thought he knew everything about his hero, but this was a puzzler. Buzz sighed heavily. It was time for them to know, "The truth is, I was adopted." A gasp rang out from the throats of his friends, they never knew about this, not even Commander Nebula, and that was how Buzz wanted it. He wanted to seem to have just a normal childhood like any other, but in truth it was quite different. "My real Father was killed by Zurg before I was born. My Mother, who was devastated, went into a deep and dark depression. But she loved me, and knew in her state of mind she could no longer give me the care that a young child of a few weeks old needed, so she gave me up to my Grandparents. So, now you know," there, it was said. Now they knew his dark secret. "Sorry ,sir," Mira felt bad that she had just made Buzz relive his past and give up his greatest secrete, "I had no idea." "No, it's OK Mira. You didn't know the circumstances. I guess, I would have had to face the facts sooner or later," he shrugged. The rest of them said nothing. What was there to say? "Well, I guess I better go change that on your records, Buzz," Commander Nebula was about to leave and go to the records room to inform the LGMs there that there was a change in Buzz's permanent record when an LGM on the bridge screamed out in terror.

"Commander! A message from Planet Z!" Nebula turned around and wrinkled his brows, scowling at the screen, "What does that stinking helmet head want!?" he barked. The overhead projection screen turned on in an instant, revealing the evil face, or helmet I guess, of Emperor Zurg. His red eyes glowing with a sinister stare. "Greetings Commander Nebula, other Space Rangers," Zurg sounded as if he were calling for a pleasant chat, mocking all who was standing there. Buzz stared down the Evil Emperor with a look of hate. His eyes, if they had been tiny sharp daggers would have pierced the screen. "Can the pleasantries, Zurg! This isn't a garden party. What do you want?" Nebula huffed and crossed his arms, fiddling with his gray mustache. "Commander Nebula, you naughty old coot," the self proclaimed Emperor laughed, "Let's let bygones be bygones." Commander Nebula gave him a cold stare and the other Rangers looked around at each other confused. "I wanted to talk of peace." "Oh that's wonderful!" Booster proclaimed. He bought Zurg's little act and play. "Pyche! Made you look you dip-stick!" Zurg threw his head back and laughed at them. Booster bowed his head in shame at just believing Zurg's little trick. "ZURG!" Buzz screamed angrily at the top of his lungs. He shook his fists at the screen. Buzz wasn't only outraged at Zurg's little joke, but all the talk about his Father's demise sent him off the edge when the purple menace dared to show his face on the screen. If Zurg was there himself, Buzz would show him what for with a zap from his wrist laser, but there was no use in blasting the projection screen to shreds. "Calm down, Lightyear. Can't you take a joke? Where's your sense of humor?" Zurg asked. His laughing had ceased when Buzz spoiled his fun with that outburst. "Anyways, the reason I am here is to inform you of my latest project, the Hyper Death Ray," Zurg's picture on the screen shrunk down as a picture of the Hyper Death ray rose up to the left of him. It was a huge weapon about 50 feet in length, decorated purple and red. And sat neatly on top of Zurg's palace, pointed directly at Star Command and Capital Planet. Lightyear shrugged not phased by Zurg's threats, "It's just your standard villain's maniacal ray gun, no biggy." He yawned. "Yea well this is the standard villain's maniacal ray gun that's going to blow up Star Command! Nah!" the Emperor spat childishly. "The Hyper Death Ray, patent pending, delivers a fate twenty percent worse they regular old garden variety death, HYPER DEATH!!" He proclaimed proudly pointing a metal clawed finger into the air to emphasize his point, and to just look really cool and important. " You have 24 hours to live, ta ta, Muwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!" and then the screen went blank leaving that snowy static to play. As soon as the coast was clear Commander Nebula slammed a fist onto his desk hard. "That stinkin bucket head!" Commander shouted. "Umm, how can you die worse then being dead?" Mira questioned. It didn't seem very logical that you could die more then you were already dead. "I don't know, but I guess Zurg finally figured it out," XR shrugged. "Either way I don't think it's much fun." "I say we launch a full scale assault on Planet Z!" Buzz growled loudly between clenched teeth. He wanted Zurg's head to end his rein of terror upon the galaxy for good. This time there would be no escape for Zurg. "Are you cracked Lightyear?!" Commander asked Buzz. "Listen, Buzz, I know youre upset with all the stuff going on recently, but I can't send the whole of Star Command to take down Zurg!" "But Commander!!" Buzz protested. "Zip it!! Buzz, only your team will check this thing out. Find the Hyper Death Ray, and KICK IT TO KINGDOM COME!" the old man shouted out throwing his arms about wildly in the air. "Yes sir!" Buzz saluted smiling. Sure it wasn't a whole army to go after Zurg, but he did have permission to do it himself. This way would be better anyways. To take down the Emperor himself, and not to have somebody else just get in the way, and take all the glory for their selves. "Come on team, let's go." "To the beach?" XR asked. "Sure thing, big guy! I think a vacation would be just lovely! Get a tan build a sand castle ya!" he tried to get out of it but no, that wasn't going to work. Mira grabbed XR by the back of the helmet and dragged him along. The little robot kicked and screamed, but he was forced to board Star Cruiser 42 and go on the mission with the rest of them.

On Planet Z, the eerie and dark home world of Emperor Zurg, the sinister Emperor was in his throne room, grinning from ear… I mean from horn to horn. He sat upon his hovering hover throne in his dark violet throne room, a faint dim light poured in to illuminate the vast hall. He sat there leaning back on his elbows on the armrests of the tall throne , clanking his fingers together. "Haha," he laughed from high about his lackeys, "Lightyear and his rookies should be here any nano second to stop me and the Hyper Death Ray," he gloated in triumph, "But they shall never succeed in taking over a card board cut out! Muwahahahahaha!!" He had it all planned out, but what he hadn't planed on was his over confidence. The Emperor watched the monitor with interest as the Ranger's Star Cruiser landed on the planet's surface, "Ahh, my guests have arrived," he sneered, "Take flight my Hornets!" in a wisk of his cape flowing in the air Zurg commanded the Yellow insect robots to come to life. From the dark depths of the creepy corners of the palace the army lurched forward into the dim purple light. Thousands of them marched on, mindless, preprogrammed drones. The imperial army of Hornets marched through the heavy metal doors with Zurg following right behind them.
The Rangers stepped out of the hatch on the side of their ship and onto the metal ground of the manmade planet. Dim lights on the sides of buildings and factories lit up the dismal planet, no sun shone even though it was midday. The thick smog and clouds kept it forever in perpetual darkness, forever night. "Ugh, this place gives me the creeps," Mira commented following behind Buzz. She looked from one side of the ally to the other making disgusted looks. It was damp, and the smell of rotting mold hung in the air above them. Booster walked on behind her looking about nervously, biting his nails. The big round Jo Adian made quick glances all around him, looking for any impending danger that might leap out and kill them. XR too was on the edge of going nuts with anxiety. After a few feet, the little robot had had enough. He started to put his wheel feet in reverse. "You know what? You guys go on right ahead, have a balst! I think I'll just stay here and make sure nobody is sneaking up behind you. No no, don't worry about me Buzz, I know it's a dangerous task, but I can handle it," he stepped back a few more feet, "Yup, yup, everything looks good from back here, nobody coming from behind. Fine, fine. I can make a coffee run," but there was no getting out of it for the little robot, Mira grabbed him once again and drug him along. After wandering through the nasty dirty streets of Planet Z for about a half an hour they finally made it. They had arrived at the heavy metal doors of Zurg's palace, Z Tower. Buzz tried to open to doors, but they were locked shut. "Booster! Front and center Space Ranger!" Buzz commanded and the happy go-lucky Ranger steeped forward, "Skeleton key!" "Affirmative!" the massive rookie threw his weight into the door, trying to push it open, or knock it down witchever came first. But the doors were thick Trillium Carbonic Alloy and would not give way. "I can open it," Buzz slyly stated and raised his arm, charging the laser. He was about to blast open the doors when a hand quickly clamped down and pushed his arm back down to his side. He looked angrily to his side where Mira was standing. He awaited for an explanation. "Shh, stealth, remember Buzz?" she quickly ghosted through the solid door as if it was thin air. The other Rangers patiently waited for the doors to open. Within moments the doors of Z Tower slowly creaked open letting them step quietly in unnoticed into the pitch black room. They got about ten feet into the center of the hall when the doors slammed shut behind them, crashing with the sound of heavy steel. "Oh craters," Buzz sighed in the darkness. Suddenly the lights flew up to reveal Zurg with his army of Hornets at his feet waiting silently. It had been a trap all along!! "Hi there!" Zurg mocked. "Hornets! Destroy Buzz Lightyear!!" as Zurg gave the order the robotic army quickly went into action to carry out their orders of destruction.

Team Lightyear had their hands full fending off the attacking army of Hornets leaving Zurg to sit high upon his throne, gloating, laughing, mocking them. The battle between good and evil went on for a while until the first Ranger was down. XR had not been watching who was coming from behind him and one plasma blast blew him to atoms lying in a scatter on the floor. "Oh Great!" The little robotic Ranger whined, "There goes my resale value!" Mira couldn't help her friend since she had her own problems to deal with. The Tangean was swamped with Hornets, doging fire, ghosting through oncoming attackers, and blasting away her fair share of the in the process. But soon all the ghosting through things reduced her energy level greatly and it cost her. She didn't see or react in time to the Hornet who was coming up behind her with the electric shocks, knocking her unconscious. Booster appeared to be holding his own, the big Ranger was a little too powerful for the Hornets to finish off, but when two or three Hornets ganged up on him he was easily overpowered and knocked down off his tiny little legs to the ground, unable to get up from under the dog pile of robots on top of him. The only one left standing was their leader, Buz Lightyear. He looked to his left and Saw XR, and then to his right seeing Mira and Booster, all down. "Look's like it's just me against one evil army of Hornets," he grinned in satisfaction of the terrible odds against him winning, "Just the way I like it." He was always up for a challenge, and if there was ever a challenge this was it. In the blast of inspiration and hope he quickly went on the attack, blasting Hornets right and left, making his way towards the Evil Emperor high on top. Zurg looked down onto his loosing pathetic army, all of a sudden he became very aware of the reality, "Lightyear's winning?!" he roared, "It can not be! Al lthe planning of the ambush, lost!" he sulked in his throne, "Well that just cans my peaches! That really roasts my rutabaga! That just burns my toast!!!" "Save the tears for jail Zurg, your plan was a bust. Evil never wins!" Buzz declared triumphantly. "You haven't won yet, Lightyear. I'll deal with you myself!" Zurg leapt down from his throne with the help of his rocket boots and landed neatly on the floor. "Prepare to die Buzz Lightyear!" "Not today Zurg!" The battle for the fate of the Galaxy raged on. Zurg never letting the trigger of his Zurg-a-tronic Ion Blaster go, always firing a round of ionic particles at Buzz. And Lightyear never letting off his laser either, he was determined more then ever to finish the battle for good, for good. The fought their way all through the palace, up and down corridors until they were on the top level over looking the throne room and the main reactor core. Just when things were looking good Zurg cornered Buzz against a wall, trapped. With his blaster ready Buzz wasted no time in a brief moment of inspiration, he leapt over the Emperor and landed safely on the floor behind him. Before Zurg had a chance to turn and fire again Buzz blasted the ion blaster right out of Zurg's claws. Zurg turned around surprised at the turn of events, but the Emperor was not without his wits, with one swift blow with his arm he knocked Buzz off of the walk way they were on and down to the one below, just inches from the edge of falling into the reactor. Buzz was winded but tried to get up and fight, when he had finally managed to gain strength a hand pushed him back on the ground then turning him over to stare into the face of the Emperor who had now regained his weapon. "Give it up Lightyearm I've won," he aimed his Zurg-a-tronic Ion Blaster at Buzz's head. But the Space Ranger didn't flinch. If this was the end, he wasn't afraid. "I'll never give up! You killed my Father!" "No, Buzz, I..am..your Father." "NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" Buzz's eyes went wide as he screamed to the sky. No, Zurg couldn't be his father, he was dead, lonf gone. "It's not true! You killed him! I saw it happen in my dreams!"

"Yes son," Zurg hissed, "Look into your heart, you know it to be true!" Zurg lowered his ion blaster to his side, not yet wanting to destroy his son. "Come to the dark side! Come with me my son! Join me and shall rule the Galaxy together as Father and Son!" "NO!! IT'S NOT TRUE! YOU KILLED HIM! YOU KILLED HIM!" Lightyear was suffering a major mental break down. All these years he had believed Zurg was the murderer of his Father, the years of hatred towards the Emperor, and now to find out that HE, hoe who had wronged him in so many ways was his Dad!?? Not there must be some mistake! But deep down, somewhere in the very depths of his heart, he felt a connection to the Emperor, that he spoke the truth for once. But he wasn't going to believe it, denial was much easier. "Yes! And you will join me OR DIE!!" Zurg was going to have him one way or another, nobody was going to tell him no, especially not his Son. He raised his Ion Blaster once more, this time Buzz cringed back. Zurg never got the chance to destroy him, as soon as he had the perfect opportunity the roof of his palace was torne clean off. "WHAT!!?" It was Star Command! Rangers rushed in everywhere from all directions. They destroyed everything he had, crippling his evil operation. The took Buzz and the rest of the team out at once, scrapped up all of XR's parts and left the way they came. "No!! I was this close to ruling the Galaxy!" two Rangers were closing in on the Emperor, but he had an ace up his sleeve. Zurg escaped through one of the many secrete trap doors that littered his palace, one being right were he was standing. In a flash he was gone. "Alright!! Enough for today! I doubt Zurg will be going back to the evil business for a while, move out!!" Commander Nebula ordered, and quickly they were on their way back to Star Command.
Back on Star Command, Mira, Booster, and XR were gathered on the bridge after being treated for their wounds. "I thought you said you weren't going to do a full scale assault on Planet Z?" Mira questioned. "It just works better if nobody else knows about it," Nebula responded, but Mira wasn't buying that excuse. "OK so it works real well at the last minuet too." The doors to the bridge whooshed open once more and a depressed looking Buzz Lightyear walked aboard. Nobody asked him what was wrong this time. He just walked right past them as if they didn't even exist, lost in his sorrow. They looked after him as they watched him walk to his desk, none said a word. It was better to leave him alone. At his desk Buzz sat, thinking. So many questions raced through his mind. Was Zurg really his Father? Or was this just another evil plot? And if it was true then why did he turn evil? Why did he abandon everyone? And why was he so bent on destroying him if he was his Father? It was all spinning and swirling in his cranium , so many unanswered questions, it was giving him a head ache. He was about to file some reports he had lying on his desk when the com channel on his desk beeped. Who was calling him at work? He flipped up the screen on his desk top and answered it. An elderly man about the age of sixty appeared on his screen. Buzz squinted at the man for his facial features were strangely familiar. The man looked like himself!? Only way older and with a beard. "Who are you?" Buzz asked the man squinting hard at him. "Your Father," on the table in front of the man he threw down the helmet of the Evil Emperor Zurg. Buzz jolted with a gasp. So, it was true, Zurg was indeed his Father. "Oh," he turned his head from the monitor, not wanting to talk or to even look at him. How could he? The man was the Evil Emperor Zurg, had tried to kill him more times then he could remember, and now he wanted to be buddy buddies? No way! "Don't turn away from me, I called to apologize." Buzz turned his head back to the screen now, his attention was gotten. How could he apologize for all he had done? It would take forever and a day to say sorry for everything. But he was willing to give him once chance to make amends. "After seeing your rejection back there in the palace, and even now your rejection of me, I see that I chose the wrong path. I was wrong. I hurt the people closest to me. And for what!? I never gained anything during my rein as Emperor." "Do you really mean that? Do you renounce your evil ways?" "Yes, I promise, my son." The rein of Zurg had ended, and Buzz finally understood what happened all along; Zurg did kill his Father, although not physically, but by accepting the dark side and refusing to be who he was before he became a new being, Zurg. THE END
