All day today I have had the Star Command Anthem stuck in my head :S. You know the one at the end of the movie sung by William Shatner? Good song but umm, could they have picked a worse singer? Well I gues they could have had Britany Spears or some rap star so yeah there could have been someone worse but still.... Shatner can't sing. I guess it was more of a gag to have the Star Trek guy sing on Star Command. They got the Star Wars fans with the "I am your Father" in TS so why not the trekkies in SC. But maybe because I am a Jedi and not a trekkie.

Hee hee. You mean the "To Infinity and Beyond" song? Yeah, I really must agree, they could have done better in picking someone to sing that one (though I'm sure they could have done worse, like you said). In fact, I even think Allen could have done that song better. Lol. It is practically Buzz's song, after all, so at least it would be more fitting. Hmm, that's something that hasn't occured to me until now: I wonder how well Buzz sings. Lol. Of course, I wouldn't expect him to be a really great singer - probably not one of his stronger suits - but in my opinion, he would probably do better than Shatner. No offence to him, of course, but singing obviously isn't his thing. Hee hee.

I've been thinking that for a while. I didn't really care for Shatner there at the end either. Buchured that song. I heard the one by Riders in the sky and thought they sang it much nicer, but I could have done without the accordian and put in some rock guitar there lol.
Not too sure about Lightyear singing though. They had someone who sounded really super close to Tim Allen sing at Toy Story on ice and it was just not umm good. My sister has a Buzz toy that sings and it's kinda scary ya. But might make more sense though.

But, judging by your observations, I think Buzz should probably stick to the Space Ranger thing.

My sister has a Buzz toy that sings and it's kinda scary ya. *Kicks brother in knee* Shut up ! My Buzz is NOT scary! He's cute ;D! Has an umm unusual singing style (Let's just say Buzz wouldn't get past Simon on American Idol) but still cute. Yeah that song didn't thrill me too much either. I thought it could have been jazzed up more with trumpets and a fan fair like Buzz's sorta "Anthem" on the TS sound track (Listen and you can hear a certain style whenever Buzz comes and does something grand). Maybe a more military cadence beat or rock out. Shatner made me want to throw up or cry either way it was bad non the less. Hmm don't know if Buzz should sing it solo though. The Toy Story on ice version of "You've Got a Friend in Me," and "I Will go Sailing no More," where the Tim Allen wanna-be sang kinda was umm not the greatest. But of course Buzz Lightyear wasn't trained to sing, just zap things with his laser. So yeah maybe he should just stick to what he knows, fighting evil. But would make a great parody lol. Sorry there Buzzy but don't quit your day job ;D.

Lol. Well I'd like to hear Buzz sing, just so I could laugh ;D. Hehe, may sound mean but it would be like, "Ha! You can't do everything!".

i've never heard that song i've heard it on orchestra, but never with voice You got lucky then. William Shatner is horrible! Tone def, couldn't carry a tune in a plastic bag. He doesn't sing, more or less says the words like some one would poetry in a beat-nic bar on the bongos, and with pauses between his words. Sounds kinda like "To...infinity and..beyond...we will...sing this.......song...". I haven't heard just the instrumental for the end credits of hte movie though, that would be interesting.

Just as Wayne Knight is Emperor Zurg. Lol I can't watch Jurassic Park without cracking up anymore lol. Funny you should mention that Buzz, since it's a little something I plan to add to the rewrite of my story where Zurg and Buzz are back in time . Yeah, Shatner should probably not be singing that song. None of them should be singing at all in fact! A plain orchestra would have been better. Buzz needs stay on Star Command, and Kirk needs to stay on the Enterprise. That's where they belong.

I am a Jedi and not a trekkie. ~Linn~ William Shatner doesn't sing William Shatner only talk. What a horrible song!!! Sounds horrible raised to infinity!!!. What was thinking Disney when decided to put William Shatner to sing. This song need other singer and other rhythm. I imagined all rangers listening that song and falling asleep ;D. I prefer thousand times more BLoSC serie music. It's more suitable and have a gorgeous rhythm; it's a very heroic rhythm, isn't it? PS:I'm a Star Wars fan too ^^
